Goalie from White Rock to take on Spokane Chiefs at 7 p.m. in Vancouver.

Saskatoon Blades goaltender Adam Morrison was picked up by the Vancouver Giants today for his final season in the WHL. From White Rock, B.C., 20-year-old Morrison is 1-1-0-0 so far in the season with the Blades, but is happy to make the move and spend his last year in the WHL on ice close to family and friends.

He comes back home as an important pick up for the Giants, after the team’s expectant Finnish goalie Jonathan Iilahti didn’t get his paperwork sorted and never made it over to Canada.

The team has been looking for a goalie to start, beginning the season with only back up goalies Brendan Jensen and rookie 16-year-old Jackson Whistle.

The Giants also acquired 17-year-old right winger Levi Bews from the Blades in exchange for Michael Burns, defenseman Zach Hodder and a fourth round 2013 bantam pick.

The Giants are currently in last place in the B.C. Division having played 5 games with 2 wins and 3 losses.

Tonight’s game against the Spokane Chiefs starts at 7 p.m. at the Pacific Coliseum in East Vancouver.

Tickets are available for $20-$25 at www.vancouvergiants.com.
