Washington Huskies Basketball

One of college basketball’s most storied programs, the Washington Huskies men’s team is a staple at the NCAA Tournament.

They haven’t tasted national glory yet but the Huskies’ recent seasons suggest they’re getting closer to achieving that dream every year.

Washington Huskies Basketball Thru The Years

If you enjoy watching your team contend for its conference title and play its heart out at March Madness every year, the Washington Huskies are the team for you.

Washington has finished as the top team in the Pac-10 19 times in its history. It has also won the Pac-10 tournament three times and is the current two-time defending champion.

The Huskies have reached the NCAA Tournament 16 times, the round of 32 seven times, the Sweet Sixteen five times, the Elite Eight twice and the Final Four once.

What’s most exciting about the Huskies is that most of their best success is happening right now. They’ve reached the NCAA Tournament six times since 2004 and have advanced past the first round in each of the past three seasons. This team is on the verge of greatness!

In addition to their national success, the Washington Huskies basketball program is special because it has produced some amazing stars who made major impacts at the NBA in while staying in the Pacific Northwest.

Detlef Schrempf graduated UW to become one of the greatest Seattle Supersonics of all time.

Brandon Roy had his jersey retired for his stellar play with Washington before becoming an All-Star with the Portland Trail Blazers.

With some big names returning in 2011 (T. Ross, N’Diaye, Gaddy, Gant, Wilcox) and with the Huskies’ recent success being any indication, it’s not a matter of “if” but “when” they capture the national title in NCAA hoops.
