Arizona St. Sun Devils vs. Washington St. Cougars Week 11 Handicapping Preview

ASU (6-3) at WSU (3-6)

After a promising start to the season it looks like same old Cougars of the last few years since they have lost 5 straight and they need to win out just to be bowl eligible.

ASU Sun Devils (6-3) vs. WSU Cougars (3-6)
Saturday, November 12, 10:30 p.m. ET
Martin Stadium, PULLMAN, WA
Favorite: ASU -12 O/U 62.5

ASU has already qualified for a bowl, but have lost 2 of their last 3 games including being upset last week.

To say the WSU defense has struggled on defense in their 5-game losing streak is an understatement, as in that span they have given up an average of 37.8 ppg. That does not bode well facing a Sun Devils’ squad that ranks 24th in the nation in scoring.

Last season in the desert ASU embarrassed WSU beating them 42-0.

One reason the Sun Devils are big away favorites is that they have a legit QB in Brock Osweiler, who has passed for 2,539 yards with 19 TD and 8 INT on the season. He has passed for over 500 yards in the last 2 games and will be up against a WSU pass defense that only ranks 89th in the nation.

ASU Sun Devils (6-3) vs. WSU Cougars (3-6) Handicapping Preview

Last week in the 30-7 loss to Cal WSU only gave up 123 passing yards, but gave up a whopping 288 rushing yards. ASU RB Cameron Marshall has rushed for over 100 yards in his last 2 games. I see that streak reaching 3 this week.

ASU vs. WSU Week 11 Handicapping Analysis

WSU QB Marshall Lobbestael is THE guy in this game, as the Cougars have a solid passing attack with a good WR corps while the rushing offense is a different story ranking 100th in the nation in rushing yards per game.

Lobbestael had a horrid game last week against Cal only going 15/37, great completion percentage if my math is correct, for 155 yards with 0 TD and 0 INT. Arizona State ranks 72nd in the nation defending the pass and 60th in the nation defending the run.

WSU rushed for a grand total of 69 yards in the loss to Cal. One key is not getting down early, as in the Cal game freshman RB Rickey Galvin averaged 6.1 yards per carry, but the Cougars had to air it out to come back, which they obviously did not do.

Sun Devils vs. Cougars Free Prediction

WSU is reeling and even at home they are no match for Arizona State, as this game may get ugly.
