Trail Blazers vs. Wizards betting odds & handicapping preview March. 10th

NBA Matchup Insight

The Trail Blazers were embarrassed last night getting crushed by the Boston Celtics and while the Wizards have the 2nd worst record in the league and have lost 7 of their last 10 games they are coming off a great home win over the L.A. Lakers.

Portland’s road woes this season have been well documented and they are only 5-14 away from the Rose Garden.

Besides LaMarcus Aldridge no other TrailBlazers‘ starter scored in double figures last night.

However, that should change tonight facing a Washington defense that ranks 29th in the league in opponents’ points allowed.

On top of being a bad road team the Blazers were crushed by the Wizards at home earlier this season. In that game Nick Young went for 35 points and Portland gave up a whopping 124 points.

Gerald Wallace, Raymond Felton, and Nicolas Batum combined for a grand total of 16 points last night on a combined 6/20 shooting. Wallace seems to be an All Star at home and an all nothing on the road and that has to change if the Blazers are going to make the post season.

While this is not a must win game for Portland the remainder of the road trip gets much togher after this game facing the Pacers, Bulls, Knicks, and Thunder.

The Wizards do not have much of a frontcourt and it is key that Young and John Wall play well tonight and if the Blazers can keep these 2 in check they have a legit chance for a rare road win.

The Blazers must get off to a better start than they have been on the road, as in their last 4 road games they are giving up an average of 60 points in the first half.

Blazers vs. Wizards Handicapping Preview

This season the Blazers are 19-20-1 ATS with an O/U record of 20-20 and the Wizards are 13-25 ATS with an O/U record of 19-19.

In some betting trends for this non-conference match up the Blazers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games, and they have an Over record of 4-1 in their last 5 games.

The Wizards are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record, and they have an Over record of 5-1 in their last 6 games.

Pick: You know it is hard to pick for the Blazers on the road, but I have a feeling they will take out their frustrations on the weak Wizards and win and cover tonight.
