Trail Blazers vs. Kings betting odds & handicapping preview April 15

NBA Matchup Insight

Mathematically the Portland TrailBlazers are still alive for the post-season, but getting there does not seem possible since they are 4.5 games out of the last playoff spot and LaMarcus Aldridge is out for the season with a hip injury.

*NBA ATS Matchup Report*

The Kings are in the midst of their longest losing streak of the season losers of 7 straight, but they beat the Blazers in their last match up.

J.J. Hickson has played well since joining the Blazers after getting waived by the Kings averaging 14 ppg and 7.3 rpg and tonight he will be going for his 4th straight double-double.

Even though the Blazers lost the game against the Kings they have won 11 of their last 13 games against them.

With Aldridge out and Marcus Camby now in Houston the Blazers are not a good rebounding team and Hickson and company will have to man up on Sacto’s DeMarcus Cousins (11.1 rpg) and Jason Thompson (6.8 rpg).

Cousins has struggled on offense in the last couple of games and the Blazers must play good D on him in the paint. On the perimeter they must try to contain the guard duo of Marcus Thornton (18.6 ppg) and Tyreke Evans (16.4 ppg).

The Blazers miss Aldridge and his scoring and rebounding, but at least tonight they will be facing a Kings’ defense that ranks 30th in the league in opponents’ points allowed.

Raymond Felton, Wesley Matthews, and 6th man Jamal Crawford all scored in double figures in the Blazers last loss to the Mavs, but none of them shot at least 50% from the floor. These 3 guards will have to play well tonight for the Blazers to win.

Blazers vs. Kings Handicapping Preview

This season the Blazers are 29-30-1 with an O/U record of 32-28 and the Kings are 26-34 ATS with an O/U record of 30-28-2.

The Blazers are 7-16 ATS in their last 23 games as a road underdog, 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 road games vs. a team with a losing home record, and they have an Over record of 5-0 in their last 5 games.

The Kings are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games, 2-12 ATS in their last 14 games overall, and they have an Under record of 3-1-1 in their last 5 home games.

Pick: The Blazers are 5-1 ATS in the last 6 games facing the Kings in Sacto.

While the Blazers may be, pretty much, out of the playoff race I think they will play well tonight and cover the spread against the Kings.
