The Blazers have won two of their last three meetings with the Lakers. Los Angeles is coming off a big win at Dallas on Wednesday, so both teams enter this one off a nice win.

Amazingly, the Blazers knocked down all 25 of their free throws in last night’s win over the Grizzlies. In a four point game, that is the type of thing that is the difference between a close win and a close loss.

In addition, Portland hit 10 out of 25 three-point shots. Nicolas Batum and Wesley Matthews both hit four each.

My single favorite statistic from last night’s game was the fact that Portland had 22 assists on 31 made field goals. The Blazers haven’t been moving the ball around much at all before last night’s game.

If the team continues to play together rather than just playing one-on-one basketball, they have a chance to get things back together and make a run.

Portland Trailblazers vs. L.A. Lakers Betting Lines & Handicapping

Los Angeles hasn’t been great this year, but they are a sparkling 19-3 at home. When the Lakers traded for Ramon Sessions a week ago not many people thought much of it, but Sessions has been tremendous in his first four games with the team.

Sessions is getting into the lane and opening up shots for the rest of the team.

In addition, Pau Gasol has been much better over the last few weeks. In their big win at Dallas Wednesday Gasol went 13 for 16 from the floor for 27 points.

Expect the Lakers to try to get the ball inside a lot in this one. Andrew Bynum is a tough matchup for Joel Przybilla or anyone on the Blazers roster.

If Portland is going to hang around in this game, they’ll need to put forth a ton of effort on the defensive end.

Blazers vs. Lakers Handicapping Preview

The Blazers are now 22-24-1 ATS this year. The Lakers are 22-25 ATS this year. Portland is just 8-20 ATS in their last 28 road games. The Lakers are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games. The Blazers are 27-11 ATS in their last 38 meetings with the Lakers.

The under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings at Los Angeles between these teams. The over is 8-1 in the Lakers last 9 games.

Pick: The Lakers play at a much slower pace, and the Blazers seemed more committed on the defensive end last night.

I think this number is too high.

I like the under in this game.
