Trail Blazers: Marcus Camby arrested, charged with marijuana possession

Trail Blazers News

Kudos to the NBA players for managing to stay newsworthy during the lockout. Take Marcus Camby, for example. The Portland Trail Blazers center was arrested by the Pearland police on Monday and charged with marijuana possession.

The two-time All-Star and former Defensive Player of the Year was pulled over in his Porsche by police around midnight when they spotted him driving with a sun-screen device blocking the front window.

After questioning the 37-year-old Camby and his passenger, 25-year-old Kendal Lance Johnson, officers noticed the smell of marijuana. They searched the car and found several marijuana cigarettes and a baggie with more.

Camby and Johnson claimed it wasn’t theirs.

Really, fellas?

What are you, 15 years old getting caught by your mom in your room?

They were charged with possessing marijuana in a drug-free zone, which is a class-A misdemeanor offense.

Camby and Johnson posted bail but could face up to a year in prison if convicted.

Camby is doing his part by getting arrested. Ron Art- I mean, uh, Metta World Peace is dancing up a storm on TV.
