In their loss on New Year’s Day the Blazers failed to score at least 20 points in the first 3 quarters and despite blowing up for 36 points in the 4th quarter they still lost by 5 points. Gerald Wallace stated about the game, “I think it’s a game we feel we gave away.

We understand what we have to do better now, especially playing at home so just have to take care of business.”

Wallace may to the key in this game, as at home he is averaging more than 21 ppg and on the road is averaging less than 5 ppg.

The Clip joint rank 6th in the NBA in scoring and the Blazers need to play D like they did in their last win over Cleveland where they forced 24 turnovers.

The sweet match up in this game is at the PF position between the Clippers Blake Griffin (24.7 ppg 10.6 rpg) and the Blazers LeMarcus Aldridge (22.6 7.8 rpg). These guys had almost identical numbers in the first match of the season between these 2 teams.

L.A. Clippers vs. Portland TrailBlazers Preview & Gambling Lines

Wallace went scoreless in the earlier meeting with L.A. and he not only needs to score, but the backcourt duo of Raymond Felton and Wesley Matthews have to shoot the rock better after both shot 40% from the floor in the first Clippers’ match up.

The backcourt of the Blazers also have to play good D on Chris Paul and not allow the lightning quick PG have a big scoring game or dish out a ton of assists. If the Blazers can slow down the Clippers they will be in great shape.

The Clippers only rank 30th in the league in rebounding and Marcus Camby and Aldridge need to hit the glass on both ends of the court.
