NWSB Insider and Vancouver Canucks Blogger Mitch Dyck breaks down the Canucks after the 20 game mark in the 2013/14 season. The bad? But with injuries to Alex Burrows, Jannik Hansen, Jordan Schroeder, Dale Weise, David Booth and Jordan Schroeder again, the Canucks have already lost 54 man-games due to injury. The good? Mike Santorelli. Yes Vancouver media. We know he’s from Vancouver…you never let us forget it.

Hey Vancouver! Are you ready for some hockey?

NWSB Insider and Vancouver Canucks’ blogger Richard Hodges weighs in with with things to love and some things to hate about the 2013 preseason for the Canucks. He points out Brendan Gaunce had a decent camp that hints he may well be ready in a year or two to don the Orca full-time. He goes on to say we can’t say the same for Nicklas Jensen’s camp. Roberto Luongo’s performance last Saturday in Edmonton not good. Last night vs. NYR however was great.

Vancouver Canucks v Edmonton Oilers

NWSB Insider and Vancouver Canucks Blogger Richard Hodges discusses whether Frank Corrado should start the 2013-14 NHL season in Utica or in the big league. After being one of the final cuts at the World Junior camp last year, Corrado played three games for the Chicago Wolves after his junior season was over before making the jump to Vancouver and playing in three regular season games and four playoff games.

Vancouver Canucks secure Tanev and Alberts today

Chris Tanev

NWSB Insider and Vancouver Canucks blogger Alex McPhee is back again, this time with a piece about the two Nucks signings today. Andrew Alberts and Chris Tanev. This deal tells Alex a couple things: neither side wanted to or could figure out a long term deal in terms of fair price at this point in time, so they went with a one year reasonable $1.5m so neither would be locked in to a multi-year deal they didn’t like.

Let’s start the season in Vancouver already

Roberto Luongo

NWSB Insider and Vancouver Canucks’ blogger Richard Hodges gives you his own thoughts on the typical offseasons of fans of the Canucks and how they are usually spent looking back at what could’ve been while feeling disgruntled about the management at the same time. If Richard had any message for those fans who continue to wallow, it would be to stop, get outside, get some fresh air, and realize that the season isn’t that far away at all.
