Kyle Wiltjer entered the season as part of one of Kentucky’s most heralded basketball classes with guard Marquis Teague and forwards Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Anthony Davis. Terrence Jones has averaged 15.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per game and started 35 of 38 games.

With a Mark Twain type approach to life, Brooks was able to surmount the challenges before him throughout his career, and because of that retired as one of the better coaches the Northwest has ever seen.

Wilcox made two free throws with five seconds left and visiting Washington held off a late Arizona rally to beat the Wildcats 69-67 on Saturday in a rematch of last season’s conference championship game. The Huskies recorded their first sweep of the Arizona schools since 2006.
