Managing Editor Q recaps the Washington Huskies vs. Washington St. Cougars hoops matchup from Sunday. Washington State (9-8, 1-4 Pac-12) saw forward Brock Motum hit all five of his first-half shots to lead the Cougars to a 31-25 lead at the break. Tony Wroten only had 13 points for UW, C.J. Wilcox was out, and Darnell Gant had 13. Terrence Ross was the star on Sunday with 30 points and 14 rebounds.
On Saturday the Washington Huskies defeated the Washington State Cougars for the third straight season in the Apple Cup. UW Playmakers came up big. You had Chris Polk, Kasen Williams, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Jermaine Kearse, and Jesse Callier with big games to help UW win.
Paul Wulff coached the Cougars to 40 losses spread out over the last four seasons, throw in four Apple Cup losses as well, and its easy to see why AD Bill Moos made the change today in Pullman. Paul Wulff was fired today by Washington St. University.
