With 14 starters returning, including stud QB Keith Price and TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins, the team’s offense shouldn’t skip a beat. With practices close this Spring, though, it is hard to gauge how the team is looking – especially with 3 new defensive coaches and a new defense being installed.

Clinton Bell one of our Washington Huskies bloggers points out his Huskies career started in 1999, and he was there until 2002. One of the first orders of business for Neuheisel when taking over in Seattle was restoring the Huskies tradition of wearing gold helmets.
NWSB insider and Washington Huskies blogger Jason Green tells us Jake Locker did enough in 2011 to further cement the fact that he’ll have a fine NFL career with the Tennessee Titans. Cam Newton and Andy Dalton got all the press this season, but Jason doesn’t think it will be long before Locker is the best rookie QB from the 2011 class.
Another North West Coach in the spotlight today. Past University of Washington Huskies head coach Don James. Clinton Bell one of our Washington Huskies bloggers points out the longest tenured coach at Washington, James also has the most career wins, with 153, winning 98 more games than he lost at the helm in Seattle. James was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1997.

If the Huskies can keep Keith Price healthy and allow Chris Polk to do his thing, this game should be a cake walk for the Huskies. The Washington State Cougars will eventually Coug it anyway.

Another North West Athlete in the spotlight today. Former University of Washington Huskies tailback Corey Dillon. A former Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots accomplished running back as well. Dillon etched his name in the record books again on October 22, 2000 with a game for the ages. 278 rushing yards, breaking Walter Payton’s 23-year-old record for most in a single game.

If Keith Price keeps playing out of his mind, the Washington Huskies have the potential to shock the other Pac-12 contenders, for now though at least the Oregon Ducks can partially control their own fate if they beat ASU this week and Stanford on November 17.
