The atmosphere was electric, and the players on both sides of the ball want to win this as much as the fans want them to. Super sub Freddy Montero bailed out the Sounders with his game winning goal in the 64th minute. Eddie Johnson added one later.

With Darren Mattocks, Eric Hassli, and Atiba Harris all out or suffering lingering injuries, it leaves the Whitecaps thin at striker. Long Tan may get the start he’s been looking for. Etienne Barbara was a frequent scorer in the NASL and it would be good to get a look at him.

With MLS First Kick at BC Place now a week away, Rennie played an experienced line-up in a 4-4-2 formation, Darren Mattocks and Eric Hassli were great.
