Maxim Lapierre scored the tying goal late in the second period and added the shootout clincher. The Canucks rallied after Cory Schneider took over, with Alexandre Burrows scoring his second goal as well. David Booth was stopped on a penalty shot.

Mike Cammalleri rifled a long one-timer past the glove of Roberto Luongo 51 seconds into the third period to put the Flames ahead 2-1. Marc-Andre Gragnani tied the game with 8:15 left. Maxim Lapierre also scored and Henrik Sedin has two assists. Andrew Ebbett returned from injury to score in OT and booked Calgary a tee off time.

Did you miss the Dallas Stars vs. Vancouver Canucks Friday night? The ascension of Maxim Lapierre to the top line with Henrik Sedin and Alex Burrows was the biggest story. Cory Schneider replaced Roberto Luongo after Luongo aggravated a sore neck in warmups. The loss dropped Dallas into dropped to seventh in the West, one point behind Los Angeles.

After tallying twice – including the overtime winner – in the teams’ last meeting on Saturday, Higgins opened the scoring with 2:56 remaining in the first period. Nice pass from Sami Pahlsson. Cory Schneider turned aside all 43 shots he faced. Semyon Varlamov finished with 21 saves for the Avalanche.

Roberto Luongo made a handful of saves inside of 10 seconds to go in the third to give him 38 on the night and a tight 1-0 win over the Kings at Rogers Arena. Manny Malhotra scored a rare fourth-line goal 3:05 into the game, and Luongo made it stand up.

It was a 25 save night from Cory Schneider — including one on a second-period penalty shot by Mike Ribeiro.

The list includes two former players, one current scout, a CBC broadcaster and an influential figure in B.C. hockey history. Rod Brind’Amour, Scott Niedermayer and Jim Hughson are all going in.
