NWSB Insider Steve Lee breaks down which of the Northwest’s college hoops stars have a chance to hear their names called in the NBA draft. Although not a NW guy, per se, Shabazz Muhammed (UCAL) is the odds-on favorite from the Pac-12 to be taken in the lottery. NWSB Insider Jason Hartzo weighs in on the 2012-13 season had by Oregon Ducks head coach Dana Altman. This was a very respectable effort from Dana Altman’s Ducks, and it was the first time in the head coach’s career that he made it past the second round. As long as Altman is the man in Eugene, this will be a team near the top for years to come—especially with freshman guards Dominic Artis and Damyean Dotson set to return.
NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson talks about Oregon’s recent performance in the Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Tournament as well as their 12 seed in the upcoming NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. While it was great to see the Ducks win the Pac-12 Tournament for the first time since 2008, their 12 seed is a complete joke and they deserve to be ranked higher. That being said, playing the underdog card throughout the rest of the season won’t be a bad thing, either.

NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson previews the matchup between the Oregon Ducks and the Washington Huskies in the 2013 Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Tournament. Though the Huskies are coming off a win in the first round over the Washington State Cougars in thrilling fashion, the Ducks should be able to draw from their two prior victories over Washington and formulate a solution that will lead them to victory. Look for this game to be thrilling and a lot of fun.
NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson talks about what the Oregon Ducks need to do to get back on track before the Pac-12 Tournament and NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The Ducks are a much better team when they play the style of basketball that Dana Altman has groomed them to play, and that is driving to the post and getting the edge on the inside with their big men Arsalan Kazemi and Tony Woods.
NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson talks about Oregon’s huge victory over the Arizona Wildcats. NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson recaps Oregon’s hot start to their 2012/2013 college basketball season. Head Coach Dana Altman has changed the way people perceive a program that was, at least for the past few years, one of the more mediocre programs in the Pac-10/12. With just one game left until Pac-12 play officially begins with a contest against bitter-rival Oregon State, the Ducks must look back on the first portion of their season in order to truly evolve into a team that can find itself towards the top of the conference come seasons end.
NW Sports Beat Editor and Writer Chris Anderson profiles the newcomers to the Oregon Duck basketball program in the 2012-2013 season. With these new players, the Ducks should maintain their status as a viable threat to claim the Pac 12 title. Players include talented PG Dominic Artis, SF Damyean Dotson, and JUCO player Devon Branch.
