NWSB Insider and Vancouver Canucks blogger Kevin “the Flying V” Vanstone weighs in tonight on Halloween night. Kev points out thanks to Sean McIndoe fans we have Gary Bettman’s Halloween party to cheer them up, and Zack Kassian looks hilarious in a hotdog suit, but the end of October just doesn’t feel the same to him this season. Please bring hockey back soon.
Vancouver Canucks blogger Richard Hodges goes in depth on relative Canucks newcomer Byron Bitz. He’s probably not going to win the Conn Smythe (probably, you never know), but Bitz is a very nice piece indeed to add to the team free of charge and possesses a lot of traits the Canucks may have been looking for at the deadline.
Richard Hodges one of our Vancouver Canucks bloggers points out its a challenge to find the best line-mate for Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin. Makes you wish there was a third brother. Cherish the skill of the third twin, because we may never see it in Vancouver. Between Trent Klatt, Anson Carter, Jason King, Taylor Pyatt and of course Alex Burrows, the Sedins’ linemates have had more hustle than pure skill.
It makes you wonder what the twins could do with talent on that wing…
Vancouver Canucks blogger C-Mac points out whats not to love about defenseman Kevin Bieksa, from great quotes to great play he’s glad he’s on the home team. Bieksa’s career plus/ minus is a +17. A reasonable figure, but not yet Hall of Fame stuff. A healthy Bieksa on a settled team could mount a serious assault on improving those numbers. With a personality like Bi-es-ka, at least the dressing room provides some relief.
Vancouver Canucks blogger Richard Hodges Love Em Hate Em Canucks hockey blog. He recaps and rewinds the win on Saturday afternoon over the Colorado Avalanche. Good news: the Canucks have points in 11 of their last 13. Putting Alex Burrows with Ryan Kesler is a nice trickle-down effect. Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin HAVE to play better.
