So when projecting the Canucks roster going into next season, what better position to start with?

JD points out assuming Roberto Luongo reports to training camp, he will start. This much we know. Behind him though the situation is a lot less clear. Eddie Lack seems like the obvious choice. The other horse in the race, Joacim Eriksson, is a bit of a wildcard.

As of February 10th, 2012, Lack has a 2011-12 record of 12-11-5 in a starting role ahead of Matt Climie. He has played in 27 of 47 games this season leading the Wolves to 5th spot in the Western Conference. Eddie very recently set up a twitter account, the next step could be him in Vancouver Canucks uniform.
