NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brandon Choate brings us some good reasons why Percy Harvin will make this Seahawks team even better. With his flat out speed, Harvin is the ultimate playmaker. He can take screen passes the distance, can take a handoff the distance and can take a punt or kick for a touchdown. He is one of the most dynamic players in the NFL today according to Brandon. Coupled with Russell Wilson expect some colorful trickeration.

Tony McDaniel

NWSB insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brett Bivens brings us his take on another free agency signing today that involved the Hawks bringing in yet another D-Lineman, this time Tony McDaniel. This move leads Brett to believe that the slim chance of Alan Branch rejoining the team has faded away. He wanted to see Branch come back to the team, and has a feeling that Alan has overestimated his value. He also fired his agent this week. Tough times.

Pleading my case for Tyrann Mathieu to be drafted by the Seahawks

Tyrann Mathieu

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Jordin Ereth gives you his reasoning why your Hawks should take a run at the Honey Badger. Tyrann Mathieu has killed his draft stock due to his off-field issues and disappointing combine results. This will likely drop him to at least the second or third round, giving the Hawks the opportunity to snag him. Jordin is not saying we should reach on him, but if he is available…Pete Carroll & John Schneider are you listening?

He gives us two selections per each position, and where he thinks the Seahawks will select them in the draft. Also, he has a wishful thinking selection, but it is highly unlikely that this player will drop far enough in the draft for the Hawks to actually select him.

Michael Bennett Widescreen

NWSB insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brett Bivens brings us his take on another free agency signing today that involved the Hawks bringing in yet another DE on the young free agency period, this time Michael Bennett. The Hawks now have the best group of pass rushing DE’s on the planet. Only 4 teams last year eclipsed the number of sacks (38) that these 4 guys did last year. Watch out San Francisco, the 49ers are going to be running for their lives both on and off the field next year.

Lions get Jones & Seahawks get Avril in a swap of free agents

Cliff Avril Widescreen

NWSB insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brett Bivens brings us his take on free agency signing today that involved the Hawks losing DT/DE Jason Jones, and gaining LEO / DE Cliff Avril from Detroit. Avril will fit in the Seahawks system as their new Leo nicely. Over the last three seasons Cliff has amassed 29 sacks in 49 games, a rate of 0.59 sacks per game. With Chris Clemons injury, there has been a big question mark at the Leo position.

Percy Harvin, Pete Carroll, John Schneider

The Seahawks still have about $14.6 million left in cap room after releasing Leon Washington. More then enough to add some more cogs says Brett. The obvious point is this. Harvin’s new six year $67 million contract gives him the extra money in the bank for a nice NEW ride.
