NWSB Insider and B.C. Lions’ blogger Bryan McFarlane gives you his offensive, defensive, and special teams game balls from this past week’s triumph over the Toronto Argonauts. Andrew Harris took home the offensive game ball with an impressive performance after a rough previous week, while Solomon Elimimian showed he still can play on defense and Hugh O’Neill continued to fill-in at kicker, earning the special teams recognition.
NWSB Insider and B.C. Lions blogger Bryan McFarlane brings us his 3 must see games for this season. The defending Grey Cup champs, the Toronto Argonauts, will be taking on the Lions in a battle of the last 2 league champions. Then the Riders come to town with new addition and Lions favorite Geroy SImon in tow. Then the Stampeders come to town in what is sure to be a battle for the west. I hope Travis Lulay brings his A games.
New NWSB Insider and BC Lions blogger Bryan McFarlane gives us his reasoning behind why the BC Lions in the 2012 Grey Cup would have made for a much greater challenge for the Toronto Argos. He points out Travis Lulay is the leader of the Lions. There is no denying or doubting that. But he spent the end of the season nursing an injury and saw little meaningful game reps heading into the postseason.
NWSB Insider and BC Lions blogger Phil The Bartender Slater weighs in with his Week 13 CFL preview for the BC Lions vs. Edmonton Eskimos from Edmonton AB. Nice week for BC. A win over Toronto and Lions teammates Shawn Gore and Tim Brown also earned weekly honours. Gore was named Top Canadian and Brown was selected as Special Teams player of the week. The Lions sit relatively comfortably atop the West division standings.
NWSB Insider and BC Lions blogger Phil The Bartender Slater weighs in with his Week 12 CFL preview for the Toronto Argonauts vs. BC Lions from Vancouver, BC. Once again the Lions will have to face off against a formidable opponent from the Eastern Time Zone, but the Double Blue show up a little black and blue after a hard fought war with Hamilton, and will be without their best Running Back. Both Geroy Simon and Kierrie Johnson are set to return.
NWSB Insider and BC Lions blogger Reggie Gill after each week of the regular season and possibly during the CFL playoffs should the Leo’s be so lucky will stop by and bring you his B.C. Lions game balls. Balls are awarded to the Leo’s offensive MVP Ernest Jackson, and on defense this week Adam Bighill. The only reason Bighill won’t get the D game ball next week is because of the bye.
NWSB Insider and BC Lions blogger Phil “The bartender” Slater isn’t suggesting that backup QB Thomas DeMarco could usurp Travis Lulay as starter for the Lions this season but watch out for him in the future. A vet of Old Dominion, DeMarco brings a lot to the table, inclucling more importantly, a small college resume. The CFL proves year in and year out: it’s not where you come from, it’s how you play…
NWSB Insider and B.C. Lions Blogger Steve Lee sums up the contract extension given to Grey Cup MVP Travis Lulay and explains what he means to the team going forward. Could Travis had made it in the NFL? Well, Casey Printers sure didn’t. Geroy Simon, Arland Bruce and Korey Banks will all catch balls from Lulay in 2012. Should be fun.
