NWSB Insider & Vancouver Canucks blogger JD Burke takes a look at the reasons the Nucks hired new coach John Tortorella. Torts, whose style is somewhat of an unknown to this point may or may not work out in Vancouver. His first head coaching gig in Tampa Bay went famously, and culminated in the franchise winning it’s only Stanley Cup. More recently he worked wonders with the New York Rangers prospects. Nicklas Jensen, Brendan Gaunce should be all smiles.

New era? Or just a new wave of Vancouver Canucks?

Vancouver Canucks v Edmonton Oilers

NWSB Insider and Vancouver Canucks blogger Richard Hodges breaks down the youth movement going on in Van City. He points 2013 NHL Entry draft picks Bo Horvat and Hunter Shinkaruk when added to a prospect pool that includes Niklas Jensen, Brendan Gaunce, Frank Corrado, and Kellan Lain, not to mention Zack Kassian and Chris Tanev on the big club that things in Van don’t seem so bad. Nice job Mike Gillis.
