Weekly Portland Trail Blazers player spotlight – Week 1

Tim Duncan, LaMarcus Aldridge

NWSB Editor Bryant Knox recaps the previous week’s star player for the Portland Trail Blazers. In Week 1, honors go to LaMarcus Aldridge. In contests against the Phoenix Suns, Denver Nuggets and San Antonio Spurs, L.A. averaged 25.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.0 blocks. He also shot an impressive 53.8 percent from the field. The only areas where he can improve is on the glass — although Robin Lopez will help — and in pick-and-roll defense, as Wesley Matthews and Damian Lillard need help up top.
