Official Seahawks 53 man roster as of Saturday August 31st 2013

Pete Carroll

NWSB Managing Editor Q tells us the players who did not survive the second waive of roster cuts today with the Seattle Seahawks. He lays out the Seahawks 53 man roster as it stands today. Check back tomorrow to see the OFFICIAL 53 man roster as of tomorrow Saturday September 1st 2013. (We expect it to change every day until they play the Panthers). Russell Wilson is the starting QB and Tarvaris Jackson is the backup. This much is certain. Michael Robinson & Antoine Winfield are gone.

Three impressionable Seahawks in Week 1 of the preseason

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jermaine Kearse, right, celebrates his touchdown with teammate Sean McGrath in the second quarter against the San Diego Chargers at Qualcomm Stadium on Thursday, August 8, 2013, in San Diego, Calif. The score put the Seahawks ahead in the game.

NWSB Insider & Seattle Seahawks blogger J.D. Burke weighs in with his first impressions of three players from the Seahawks vs. San Diego Chargers Week 1 2013 preseason game. While it’s hard to focus on anyone else when John Lotulelei is on the field due to his Polamalu-esque head of hair, that really isn’t such a bad thing. No Cliff Avril, no Chris Clemons… No problem! Benson Mayowa was impressive. As was Tarvaris Jackson. Your move Brady Quinn.

Legion of Boom: The Seahawks not so secret weapon

Seahawk Widescreen

Seattle Seahawks blogger Clinton Bell weighs in with a piece about the Seahawks most prized possession: the Legion of Boom. From Kam to Earl, Browner to Sherm, these guys are the heart and soul of the Seahawks defense. Sure the offense has some nice weapons too, but the defense is what keeps the Hawks in games down the stretch. Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, Brandon Browner, and now featuring Antoine Winfield. Look out.

It’s Official! The Seahawks trade QB Matt Flynn to the Raiders

Matt Flynn

NWSB insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brett Bivens brings us his take on another Pete Carroll & John Schneider move this week. They traded Matt Flynn to the Oakland Raiders on Monday, Jay Glazer first broke this story. Matt Flynn is a quarterback who wants his chance to start in the NFL. Brett can’t say wether he would have become outspoken about his unhappiness, but can assure you that he wanted to do more than just hold a clipboard on the sidelines. Good Luck Matt.

ICYMI Seahawks snag Tony McDaniel: Another vet via Free Agency

Tony McDaniel

NWSB insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brett Bivens brings us his take on another free agency signing today that involved the Hawks bringing in yet another D-Lineman, this time Tony McDaniel. This move leads Brett to believe that the slim chance of Alan Branch rejoining the team has faded away. He wanted to see Branch come back to the team, and has a feeling that Alan has overestimated his value. He also fired his agent this week. Tough times.

Pleading my case for Tyrann Mathieu to be drafted by the Seahawks

Tyrann Mathieu

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Jordin Ereth gives you his reasoning why your Hawks should take a run at the Honey Badger. Tyrann Mathieu has killed his draft stock due to his off-field issues and disappointing combine results. This will likely drop him to at least the second or third round, giving the Hawks the opportunity to snag him. Jordin is not saying we should reach on him, but if he is available…Pete Carroll & John Schneider are you listening?

Weighing in on prospective Seahawks 2013 NFL draft picks

Tyler Eifert

Seattle Seahawks blogger Clinton Bell weighs in with the top needs, in his opinion, that the Seahawks need to address in the upcoming NFL Draft. The top needs, says Clinton, are TE, OT, OG, and OLB. He gives us two selections per each position, and where he thinks the Seahawks will select them in the draft. Also, he has a wishful thinking selection, but it is highly unlikely that this player will drop far enough in the draft for the Hawks to actually select him.

2013 is the year of the Seahawks NFL free agent frenzy

Percy Harvin

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Jordin Ereth gives you his 2013 NFL free agency recap thru 3 days for our Seahawks. Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett, Percy Harvin are all on board. DO Pete Carroll and John Schneider have anything left for an encore? All of these moves can only mean one thing: It is super bowl or bust for this Seattle team.

Official Seahawks 53 man roster as of Friday August 31st 2012

GM John Schneider

NWSB Managing Editor Q tells us the players who did not survive the second waive of roster cuts today with the Seattle Seahawks. He lays out the Seahawks 53 man roster as it stands today. Check back tomorrow to see the OFFICIAL 53 man roster as of tomorrow Saturday September 1st 2012. (I expect it to change every day until they play the Cardinals). Russell Wilson is the starting QB and Matt Flynn is the backup. This much is certain.

Five Seahawks signings that would give Ruskell a coronary Part #2

Braylon Edwards

NWSB Insider Reggie Gill brings us a list of futility for current Seattle Seahawks players. Ex-GM Tim Ruskell was known for wanting a squeaky clean team, but Pete Carroll and John Schneider changed the ambience of the locker room. By signing the likes of Terrell Owens, Kellen Winslow, Marshawn Lynch, Golden Tate, Bruce Irvin, J.R. Sweezy, John Moffitt, and Braylon Edwards, its plainly obvious the new regime in Seattle would have given Ruskell a coronary!

Seattle Seahawks position battles: *My* pick for quarterback

Seahawks Draft Picks

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Clinton Bell tells us about his fearless predictions of who will be named the Seattle Seahawks starting quarterback. Matt Flynn has the pedigree to become a long time starter in this league, and with the addition of Russell Wilson in the draft, this leaves no room for returning starter Tarvaris Jackson.

Where has the Seahawks Chris Clemons gone?

Chris Clemons, Seattle Seahawks

NWSB Insider Brandon Choate brings us slightly troubling news today from the Seattle Seahawks camp. While OTA’s are voluntary for some, many people still make the effort to show up for a free team workout. One big name that has yet to show his face is DE Chris Clemons, who is entering his contract year with the Seahawks. He was supposed to be mentoring young Bruce Irvin.
