With the rookie additions of players like Luke Willson, Jesse Williams, Christine Michael and Chris Harper, the Seahawks are adding even more depth to an already scary depth chart. The additions of Percy Harvin, Antoine Winfield, Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril are moves that will put the Seahawks over the top.
Seahawks insider Brett Bivens brings us news of a new signing in Seattle. Running back Kregg Lumpkin, formerly with the Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has agreed to an undisclosed deal with the Seattle Seahawks. Lumpkin will come in and compete for the backup job with Leon Washington and any other RB who joins the roster. Don’t expect Justin Forsett back in 2012.
NWSB Managing Editor reports today that in 2012 NFL Free agency the Seattle Seahawks have signed former Green Bay Packers quarterback and prized free agent Matt Flynn. He’ll be in competition for the starting quarterback job in Seattle with incumbant Tarvaris Jackson. Pete Carroll has got another QB to try and build this franchise around. We hope it works. Mike Holmgren was a QB genius, playing the position himself until an injury derailed his playing career. He quickly took that experience into coaching, taking in QBs like Steve young, Joe Montana, Brett Favre and Matt Hasselbeck. He set multiple records while coaching in the NFL, especially while with the Seahawks.
