Also, a top eight spot in the CCL, a return to form in the Cascadia Cup, a changing of the guard out west, and the importance of adding Sharlie Joseph to this years squad, even if it meant losing an important DP role.

This game got chippy early, and there was a stretch of about thirty minutes where the whistle was blown evey minute, but there were a ton of scoring chances. Two beautiful goals off the head of Eddie Johnson put the Sounders ahead.
