With a Mark Twain type approach to life, Brooks was able to surmount the challenges before him throughout his career, and because of that retired as one of the better coaches the Northwest has ever seen.
Matt Martz our Oregon beat blogger weighs in with what lies ahead for the OSU Beavers basketball team and Jared Cunningham in the month of January. Hopefully, Oregon State will have snatched their first two games in January, before they hit the road to face in state rival Oregon who pelted the Beavers both times in 2010.

Sophomore guard Jared Cunningham is the team’s leading scorer, Forward Devon Collier is the 2nd leading scorer, the frontcourt tandem of Eric Moreland (6 rpg) and Joe Burton (5.4 rpg) are the leading rebounders.
The top 5 teams in the nation according to the AP poll and their futures odds to win the NCAA tourney are Kentucky), Ohio State, Duke, Syracuse, and North Carolina. In the Northwest the Gonzaga Bulldogs are playing solid on both ends of the court and 7-foot senior center Robert Sacre leads the team in scoring.
Oregon State Beavers blogger Jason Green tells us this season the Beavers have gotten off to a great start (4-0) and one of the main reasons is the play of G Jared Cunningham. He is a 6’4″ guard that averaged 14.2 ppg last season and his scoring will be needed this season of the Beavers are going to contend in the Pac 12.
