NWSB insider Jon Irwin gives us a preview of the Beavers upcoming seven game homestand. The series will be a nice mix of easy games before leading into Pac-12 conference play. Fittingly enough, the Beavs kick off conference play at home against in-state rival Oregon. But their biggest challenge comes at the end of the homestand against Pac-12 leading Arizona.

Jared Cunningham is under the spotlight for the Beavs. Jared’s school record for steals by a sophomore saw him eclipsing, who else, Gary Payton by 13 steals. Payton, in the ’87-88 season, thieved 72 balls, whereas Cunningham swiped 85, linking him with the “next Gary Payton” moniker.

Matt Martz, one of our Oregon sports area bloggers points out Coach Robinson has had much success in the past but is struggling at the helm of the OSU Basketball program. As the saying goes though, there’s always hope and Matt thinks it shouldn’t be too too long before OSU fans see a little March Madness Action.
