Raiders vs. Seahawks Week 4 Preseason game balls & stats

Mike Morgan

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Alistair Corp after each week of the regular season and possibly during the NFL playoffs should the Hawks be so lucky. Game balls are awarded to the Hawks offensive MVP Vai Taua, what a game for the halfback/fullback. Mike Morgan was flying around the field and making plays on D. Steven Hauschka missed his second field goal of the preseason, but nailed two.

This week the Raiders travel to Seattle to face off against old AFC West foes the Seahawks. The 4th game of the preseason is all about getting down to the final 53 men. Don’t expect too many starters to make it into the 2nd quarter of this one.

Here’s what I’m watching for Thursday night at CenturyLink Field

Aaron Curry

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brett Bivens brings us up to speed on the storylines he’s watching Thursday night at Century Link Stadium in Seattle when the Raiders visit the Seahawks in NFL preseason action. Brett says he wants to see Charly Martin step on the field and ball out. He’d also like to see the Raiders Aaron Curry accidentally end up in position to make a tackle on Seahawks rookie RB Robert Turbin.

The Seattle Seahawks will be A-ok without Mike Williams

Kellen Winslow Jr. Seattle Seahawks

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Reggie Gill weighs in tonight on the release of Seattle wide receiver Mike Williams. He says Mike won’t be missed noting a strong ground game with Marshawn Lynch and the O-line will help offset this roster move. Kellen Winslow Jr. and Zach Miller will step up as will Doug Baldwin, Sidney Rice, Ricardo Lockette, Ben Obomanu and Golden Tate.

Northwest Athlete Profile: Marques Tuiasosopo

Marques Tuiasosopo

NWSB Insider Dave B brings us another Northwest Athlete Profile of a hometown hero in Seattle. Marques Tuiasosopo was a leader and a champion as a Washington Huskies quarterback before entering the NFL with the Oakland Raiders. While his NFL career didn’t pan out, Tui immediately went to work to give back with his alma mater Washington. Soon after, he landed at UCLA as a specialty coach.

J.R. Sweezy

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brett Bivens tells us today the Seahawks have filled another need with the draft of North Carolina State’s defensive tackle, though we’re hearing possible guard in the NFL J.R. Sweezy. Tom Cable flew out and had a private workout with him and reported to Pete Carroll that this kid was athletic enough. We’re not about to argue with Tom Cable are you?

Moments in time…Grading the Seattle Seahawks 2009 draft class

Aaron Curry 2009 NFL Draft

So in saying that let’s recap the 2009 Seahawks draft class today. Aaron Curry, Max Unger, Deon Butler, Cameron Morrah are the only names that even need to be talked about. Thanks Tim Ruskell.

Lump…Love this signing! Seahawks grab Kregg Lumpkin

Kregg Lumpkin, RB

Seahawks insider Brett Bivens brings us news of a new signing in Seattle. Running back Kregg Lumpkin, formerly with the Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has agreed to an undisclosed deal with the Seattle Seahawks. Lumpkin will come in and compete for the backup job with Leon Washington and any other RB who joins the roster. Don’t expect Justin Forsett back in 2012.

Seahawks Notebook: Top 5 roster moves of 2011

Brandon Browner

A list of my top 5 Seattle Seahawks roster moves this season based solely on my opinion of the way they have effected the team this season as well as the impact they will have in the future. For starters with Aaron Curry traded rookie linebacker KJ Wright has been able to emerge. Zach Miller has been a force as a blocker. A Pete Carroll & Tom Cable coaching staff is SWEET.
