One of the first orders of business for Neuheisel when taking over in Seattle was restoring the Huskies tradition of wearing gold helmets.

He quickly took that experience into coaching, taking in QBs like Steve young, Joe Montana, Brett Favre and Matt Hasselbeck. He set multiple records while coaching in the NFL, especially while with the Seahawks.

Danny Ferguson one of our Seattle sports area bloggers points out Coach Hargrove isn’t to fondly remembered for his days in Seattle. His record in Seattle as manager is 192–209, including a 93 loss season record in 2005. To this day Hargrove insists his sudden retirement had nothing to do with his Ichiro Suzuki.

NWSB insider Brandon Choate brings us a Northwest Coaching Profile on Washington State Cougars ex-head coach Mike Price. After starting out coaching Weber St, Price was given a beaming recommendation by former high school team mate and personal friend, Dennis Erickson and landed the Wazzu head coaching job. Price took the Cougars to the Rose Bowl twice and earned National Coach of the Year. He is now at UTEP.

Danny Ferguson one of our Seattle sports area bloggers points out despite leading the team to its first winning season, by the end of 1991, the players that had sang his praises were quickly becoming Lefebvre atheists. After a blowup with Mariners GM Woody Woodward, Lefebvre was gone.

Clinton Bell one of our Washington Huskies bloggers points out the longest tenured coach at Washington, James also has the most career wins, with 153, winning 98 more games than he lost at the helm in Seattle. James was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1997.

NWSB insider C-Mac brings us a Northwest Coaching Profile on past Vancouver Canucks head coach and general manager Pat Quinn. Pat Quinn was one of the hardest workers the league has ever seen in both his playing and administrative roles. He earned the NHL’s Jack Adams top coach award twice. He’s also probably the second greatest coach in team history.

NWSB insider Brandon Choate brings us a Northwest Coaching Profile on Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll. After climbing the college ranks of coaching, Carroll took a crack at the NFL and then moved on to become one of the greatest college head coaches of all time with the USC Trojans. He is now the head coach of the NFL’s Seahawks and after 2 years with the team, is already seen turning the franchise around.
