NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson talks about the penalties levied against the Oregon Ducks football program this morning. While there are other penalties such as public reprimand and censure and other minor sanctions that have more to do with using the same recruiting services, the big news on Wednesday morning was that the Ducks will still be bowl eligible. That’s right, Oregon fans, you can take a nice deep breath, exhale, and realize that your team is destined for greatness.

Husky insider Brandon Choate brings us news that another Washington Husky is moving on. Running back Chris Polk has decided to enter the 2012 NFL draft. Polk’s left a lasting legacy for the Washington Huskies, breaking several records and coming close to many Napoleon Kaufman marks. Polk is sure to be a top 5 running back in the draft. Projected as a 2nd or 3rd pick.
Ducks blogger the Crazy Quacker Travis Koehler tells us the Oregon Ducks restored some Pac-12 pride in the 2012 Rose Bowl by defeating the Wisconsin Badgers on Monday. It was yet another bowl game with not much defense being played by either team. LaMichael James ran for 159 yards and a score and Lavasier Tuinei caught two touchdown passes as the Ducks (12-2) piled up 621 yards against the No. 6 scoring defense in the country.
