Time to buy or sell? Decision time for big Jack

Dustin Ackley

Brand new NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners’ blogger Brian Scott breaks down the reasons that Jack Z must move Dustin Ackley at the MLB Trade Deadline. Brian says tell him to pack his bags and shave that beard. It’s time for a fresh start. He deserves it and it’s time for the Mariners to move on. AAA won’t do either. You have a log jam of outfielders named Stefen Romero, Carlos Peguero and Abraham Almonte. Decisions, Decisions.

With Michael Morse back, what happens to Jason Bay?

Jason Bay

NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson talks about the Seattle Mariners activating Michael Morse from the DL and designating Jason Bay for assignment. Obviously this is a situation not many people wanted to see happen this year. Signing the northwesterner to a one-year deal with a base salary of $1 million, Seattle’s front office had hoped Bay would once again find his All-Star swing after a few down seasons with the New York Mets.

NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson talks about the predicament the Seattle Mariners are moving towards with the trade deadline looming. Seattle’s record right now is 47-52. That sees them 11 games out of first in the AL West and 9.5 games back in the AL Wild Card. While this would leave some to believe that the Mariners are completely out of the playoff picture, with the way they’ve played recently and the tools they will be getting back in the near future, I really believe anything is possible with the squad this year.

Jack Z Mariners

NWSB Mariners Blogger and our resident Insider the man we call INSIDER Steve is back today with pre 2013 MLB trade deadline post. Steve says Jack Zduriencik is very much on the hot seat, and its getting hotter. Seasons cannot continue to be wasted on the hopes and dreams of youth. Success in major professional sports is dictated by how many rings you have, and the last time Steve checked the Mariners have zero. Jack cannot be complacent.
