The midfield will be anchored by yet another stellar year by the best mid in all of the MLS, Osvaldo Alonso. Let’s hope that a healthy Steve Zakuani, and O’Brian White can come back and contribute what they are known for this season. Once again he predicts the Sounders to win the Cascadia Cup.
Seattle Sounders insider Jason Green brings us news that 2 Seattle Sounders won MLS awards. Kasey Keller earned the Goalkeeper of the Year Award, was named to the MLS All-Star Team AND made the MLS Best XI. Mauro Rosales won the Newcomer of the Year award, the second Seattle Sounder to do so in 3 seasons.
It was a great season for the Seattle Sounders, but not a happy ending. They lost 3-2 on aggregate to Real Salt Lake in the MLS Playoffs last night at CenturyLink Field on November 2, 2011 in Seattle, Washington. Freddy Montero and Kasey Keller did their best, and that’s all you can ask for.
