Our man Josh Dougherty has his finger firmly on the pulse of the Seattle Sounders in the 2012 season of MLS soccer. Today Josh weighs in on the MLS playoff loss by the Sounders to the LA Galaxy this past weekend. He says the pain has begun to pass. It’s now a dull just a dull aching. This playoff series loss was just another reminder that the Sounders aren’t quite the best. Sad though. When the team needed him most, Mauro Rosales wasn’t there.

The Sounders only have 4 wins away from home this year, they’d love one on Sunday.

Another lead blown by the Sounders, but we do come away with a point. Freddy Montero starts on the bench again, but does supply the game tying goal. Old friend Sebastien Le Toux nets one for the Red Bulls, and a hand ball goes unnoticed by the ref.

The return of Steve Zakuani against Brian Mullan has finally happened, and Alvaro Fernandez scored his first goal of the year. Sigi Schmid has to be happy with this result. Maybe the new lineup sans Fredy Montero is a sign of things to come.

NWSB Insider and Seattle Sounders writer Clinton Bell brings us his Love Em & Hate Em recap from Wednesday nights match up with Real Salt Lake. Not a win, but we did earn a point in the 0-0 draw. This game got chippy early, and stayed that way for the entire match. A total of five yellow cards were handed out. Not a whole lot of great scoring chances, but Cordell Cato and Zach Scott both had excellent chances. The defense, led by Jhon Kennedy Hurtado kept the Sounders in this game and forced the draw.

NWSB Insider and Seattle Sounders writer Clinton Bell brings us his Love Em & Hate Em recap from Saturday nights match up with the New England Revolution. Not a win, but we did earn a point in the 2-2 draw. This game got chippy early, and there was a stretch of about thirty minutes where the whistle was blown evey minute, but there were a ton of scoring chances. Two beautiful goals off the head of Eddie Johnson put the Sounders ahead.

While the injuries have been a problem, Seattle is lucky to be sitting in fourth place in the Western Conference. Top goal goes to Patrick Ianni for his mid air volley against Sporting KC. Best player so far is Osvaldo Alonso, without him, the Sounders would be in a world of hurt.
