NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell tells us to him the best “MY oh MY” play of the nineteenth week of the year had to be Jesus Montero’s two homer game against the Angels on Sunday. Any time the Mariners can beat the Angels in Anaheim is sweet, especially if we beat Jarred Weaver while doing it! Montero went deep on two 1-1 counts in the 2nd, and 6th innings.

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell tells us to him the best “MY oh MY” play of the eighteenth week of the year had to be King Felix Hernandez’s dominant two hit shutout at Yankee Stadium on Saturday. With some defensive gems by Michael Saunders and Dustin Ackley, this was a whole team performance getting the 1-0 win over the Ichiro and the Yankees. Felix moves to 4-1 at the new Yankee Stadium.

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell tells us to him the best “MY oh MY” play of the seventeenth week of the year had to be the induction video of Dan Wilson and Randy Johnson to the Seattle Mariners Hall of Fame. As players who were instrumental in winning and helping the M’s get Safeco built, this was a day that will go down in history and never be forgotten to Marines fans everywhere.

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell tells us to him the best “MY oh MY” play of the sixteenth week of the year had to be the the leap and grab at the wall by Ichiro. With the Mariners holding a very early 1-0 lead, this grab by Ichiro kept Carlos Pena out of scoring position in the first, and maintained the M’s lead. Ichiro may not be hitting well, but his defense is still tops in the league.

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell tells us to him the best “MY oh MY” play of the fourteenth week of the year had to be the strikeout collection of lone Mariners All-Star Felix Hernandez. With the nasty fastball that Felix has, the M’s haven’t seen this kind of domination since Randy Johnson left town. If the Mariners want Felix to be a star on this team for the future, they better find a way to make him happy and score runs more regularly.

Mariners vs. Rangers Game 3

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell tells us to him the best “MY oh MY” play of the thirteenth week of the year had to be John Jaso’s pinch hit game winning RBI single in the bottom of the 9th inning Thursday agains the Boston Red Sox. With two runners on, and only one out, Jaso turns on the pitch and sends it to right field. Casper Wells scored from second base when the throw to the plate was bobbled by Jarrod Saltalamacchia.

Felix Hernandez

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell tells us to him the best “MY oh MY” play of the twelfth week of the year had to be Felix Hernandez’s two RBI double in the second inning Saturday night against the San Diego Padres. With the one run given up on the mound as well, Felix single was a one man wrecking crew against the Padres. The double was on a hanging sinker off of Jason Marquis, scoring both Justin Smoak and Dustin Ackley.

Franklin Gutierrez, Seattle Mariners

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell tells us to him the best “MY oh MY” play of the eleventh week of the year had to be Franklin Gutierrez’s RBI single in the 8th Thursday night against the San Diego Padres. More of a feel good story than one that helped the outcome of the game, Gutierrez’s RBI scored Justin Smoak on a play that we hope to see a lot more of before the season is over.

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell tells us to him the best “MY oh MY” play of the tenth week of the year had to be the combined no hitter of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Six pitchers spearheaded by Kevin Millwood, and finished off by Tom Wilhelmson, completely shut down the Dodgers and their hot bats. Coming in, the Dodgers were the best team in MLB, but that sure didn’t show Friday night at Safeco Field.

Ichiro goes deep twice in Chi-Town!

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell tells us to him the best “MY oh MY” play of the ninth week of the year had to be the two home run game by Ichiro Suzuki. When the M’s play at U.S. Cellular field, it alwasy reminds me of the 4 homer game by Mike Cameron. Ichiro made it half way there, and finally beat the Sox at the same time. Ichiro just seems to have Gavin Floyd’s number.

Statue of Dave Niehaus

NWSB Insider and Northwest sports blogger Steve Lee tells us another story in our Moments in time series about the legendary Seattle Mariners radio voice Dave Niehaus. Born February 19, 1935 in Princeton, Indiana. Niehaus was massively popular in Seattle, twice being named Washington Sportscaster of the Year. Despite the M’s struggles to qualify for the post season, neither Niehaus or the fans of his broadcasts waviered.

Seattle Mariners vs. Detroit Tigers Gambling Odds & preview

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell tells us to him the best “MY oh MY” play of the eight week of the year had to be the Ozzie Smith-esque play by Mariners shortstop Brendan Ryan. On a 1-2 pitch by Hector Noesi Bobby Wilson grounded to center field. Brendan Ryan comes out of nowhere, snags the ball, spins, and in mid air throws Wilson out by a step and a half.
