Franklin Gutierrez has finally made his comeback to the team and of course continues to live up to his name of “death to flying things”. The Mariners have added 9 men to their roster so far this September. Those players are…Carlos Peguero, Carlos Triunfel, Casper Wells, Erasmo Ramierez, Hector Noesi, Luis Jimenez, Mike Carp, Shawn Kelley and Alex Liddi.

For everything great that happened for the Mariners this week, none of it even came close to the greatness that King Felix Hernandez showed during his perfect game outing Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays.

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners editor “Q” has the privilege of reporting on another MLB moment in time. Felix Hernandez (The King) Pitched nine perfect innings today at Safeco Field in Seattle vs. the Tampa Bay Rays to record the gem. Just this week we said he had an outside chance at the 2012 AL Cy Young award, now he has to be front and center in the conversation doesn’t he? The Mariners won the game 1-0.

The Headline: Eric Thames seals the deal with a walkoff single, propels M’s to another big home win. Thames wasn’t the only hero, as Millwood pitched a gem. The win propels the Mariners to 8-1 in their last nine home games. Kevin Millwood pitched an absolute gem, and that shouldn’t remain buried.

Mariners vs. Baltimore Orioles: MLB love ‘em & hate ‘em game 2

The Headline: after 14 long innings an Adam Jones walk off single seals the deal for a Mariner’s loss. The Mariner’s put up 18 hits, but get outscored 5-0 after the seventh inning. Despite the score, Blake Beavan pitched a pretty good game. Eric Wedge was ejected for 2nd time in his M’s career.

The Headline: Blake Beavan was masterful as the Mariners complete the sweep—their second in a row—against the Jays. John Jaso was again the man. The Mariners have now won 7 in a row. The M’s scored the runs they needed to and found a way to win this one.
