While this game did have some resemblance to Oregon’s narrow victory over the Bears on their previous National Championship run in 2010, Oregon used an impressive second-half effort, led by freshman quarterback Marcus Mariota , to dispel any thoughts of another top team falling victim to the upset.

UO fell one spot in the BCS following their 43-21 win over the Arizona State Sun Devils, but with a 7-0 record, they’re still the No. 4 team at this point in the year. However, the BCS doesn’t account for an 86-yard run by Marcus Mariota, a 71-yard run by Kenjon Barner and the flare that a Chip Kelly team brings in each week.

NWSB Insider and Washington State Cougars blogger Jordin Ereth gives us his take in his weekly What Went Wrong post following the BIG loss by the Cougs to the Ducks from Seattle on Saturday night. The Ducks came away with a 51-26 victory over the Cougars, and nobody batted an eyelash at the outcome. Marquess Wilson – who had a solid 12 receptions for 182 yards and a touchdown – still had some key drops to join in the blame game.
