Jarret Stoll scored a third-period power-play goal, Trevor Lewis scored shortly after another power play late in the final period, and Jonathan Quick made 46 saves for the Kings. Samuel Pahlsson and Jannik Hansen scored for Vancouver and Roberto Luongo finished with 23 saves for the Canucks.

Dustin Penner converted that bounce into the tie-breaking goal with 3:14 left to lift the Kings to a 4-2 victory and a 1-0 lead in their Western Conference Quarterfinal series against the Canucks at Rogers Arena. Canucks defenseman Alexander Edler tied the game at 2-2. It could have been a lot worse if not for Roberto Luongo.

Roberto Luongo made a handful of saves inside of 10 seconds to go in the third to give him 38 on the night and a tight 1-0 win over the Kings at Rogers Arena. Manny Malhotra scored a rare fourth-line goal 3:05 into the game, and Luongo made it stand up.
