Seahawks insider Brandon Choate brings us another preview of things to come. With the NFL draft 3 weeks away, the Seahawks need to think about addressing their remaining team needs. Drafting a linebacker like Luke Kuechly or a defensive end like Whitney Mercilus would sure take care of those holes in the roster.David DeCastro and Trent Richardson look awfully inviting as well.
Seahawks insider Brandon Choate brings us his list of top five positions the Seattle Seahawks need to shore up. With Marshawn Lynch and Red Bryant re-signing, and the team adding Jason Jones and Matt Flynn, the Seahawks can focus elsewhere and fill other positions that are lacking depth. LB, DE, Offensive line and RB seem to be the most glaring openings in his opinion.
NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brett Bivens tells us today the Seahawks Pete Carroll can say there is an open competition all he wants but Flynn is not being brought in as anything but the starter. The Seattle Seahawks agreed to terms with free agent quarterback Matt Flynn on a 3-year $26 million dollar deal with $10 million guaranteed. NOT backup money.
NWSB Managing Editor reports today that in 2012 NFL Free agency the Seattle Seahawks have signed former Green Bay Packers quarterback and prized free agent Matt Flynn. He’ll be in competition for the starting quarterback job in Seattle with incumbant Tarvaris Jackson. Pete Carroll has got another QB to try and build this franchise around. We hope it works. More NFL signing to follow hopefully with Visanthe Shiancoe.
NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brett Bivens tells us the Seahawks got their man this week in defensive tackle Jason Jones. Jason signed with Seattle as a defensive tackle but he also has the ability to slide outside and fill in for Red Bryant at the 5-technique if need be. That versatility is something Pete Carroll loves.
NWSB Managing Editor reports today that in 2012 NFL Free agency the Seattle Seahawks have signed former Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jason Jones. He’ll be another pass rushing option for Gus Bradley and Pete Carroll on their new and improving #9 ranked Seahawks defense. More NFL signing to follow today, hopefully Matt Flynn at quarterback.
NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brett Bivens tells us last season the Seahawks aren’t making a huge splash in free agency signing other teams’ players but they are keeping their own core together. Last week it was Marshawn Lynch to avoid free agency, this week Heath Farwell, Red Bryant and now Michael Robinson have been re-signed by John Schneider and Pete Carroll and the Seahawks.
NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brett Bivens tells us today the Seahawks guarenteed Red Bryant will be a Seattle Seahawk for the entirerty of his prime years as an NFL player. Prior to this signing the Seahawks could have been rolling out a line consisting of Chris Clemons, Brandon Mabane, Alan Branch and ‘Pep’ Levingston.
NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brett Bivens tells us last off-season the Seahawks signed Alan Branch away from the Cardinals in free agency, and were able to re-sign Mebane to a 5 year $25 million dollar contract. This year they need to sign Mario Williams and possibly bring back Big Red Bryant. He hopes the Seahawks can do both. Will Anthony Hargrove be back?
