Gameday skate: Canucks host Oilers in second of back-to-backs

Van City did just enough to edge the Oilers 2-1 on Tuesday

NWSB Insider and Canucks blogger Kevin “The Flying V” Vanstone weighs in today on the Vancouver Canucks. They host the Edmonton Oilers tonight in the second of back-to-back games for both teams tonight at Rogers Arena. Dale Weise and David Booth are both expected to sit out of tonight’s game. Roberto Luongo will start against the Oilers for the fourth time this season after earning the win last night against the Coyotes.

How long until one of these talented goaltenders is out of the picture?

NWSB Insider and Vancouver Canucks blogger Mitch Dyck brings us some Robert Luongo and Canucks trading him to the Flyers or Maple Leafs gossip for today. Richard must be eating some wacky froot loops this week because this one is way off the charts and yet the way he brings the hockey related scandals full circle is nothing short of genius. From the Vancouver Canucks wives being swapped…apparently…allegedly…to Paulina G. strutting around Las Vegas or Los Angeles…somewhere that starts with LOS/LAS, this one’s a doozy.

Which Canucks goaltender gets the nod for Game 4 and beyond?

Roberto Luongo & Cory Schneider

NWSB Insider and Vancouver Canucks blogger Richard Hodges has an opinion. Roberto Luongo. Pros, the de-facto 1A all season and aside from hiccups in October and March, he put together his most consistent season as a Canuck. Cory Schneider Pros, unflappable cool demeanour, Schneider is the antithesis to Luongo. Tough decision for Mike Gillis, Alain Vigneault and the rest of the Canucks organization.
