Two close games that the Huskies should have had, 1993 Rose Bowl with Michigan, and the 2004 Apple Cup. Both were in reach, but both were lost in the last minutes. Don James retiring was tops on the list. The Dawg Father led the Huskies to 4 Rose Bowls, and a National Championship, plus the last dyanasty Seattle has seen.

With practices close this Spring, though, it is hard to gauge how the team is looking – especially with 3 new defensive coaches and a new defense being installed.

Clinton Bell one of our Washington Huskies bloggers points out his Huskies career started in 1999, and he was there until 2002. One of the first orders of business for Neuheisel when taking over in Seattle was restoring the Huskies tradition of wearing gold helmets.

Clinton Bell one of our Washington Huskies bloggers points out the longest tenured coach at Washington, James also has the most career wins, with 153, winning 98 more games than he lost at the helm in Seattle. James was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1997.
Q the Senior editor here at NWSB has the Washington season recap article. The Huskies had a great year offensively with Chris Polk rushing for 1,488 yards with 12 TD and Keith Price passing for 3,063 yards with 33 TD. On defense though the UW gave up 777 yards in the 2011 Alamo Bowl game and Robert Griffin III did major damage to Nick Holt’s defense. Bye Bye Nick Holt. Hello Justin Wilcox.
Kris S tells us that the University of Washington Huskies defense, despite a rough start, are coming around and fixing their mistakes. Huskies defenders Desmond Trufant, Cort Dennison and Alameda Ta’amu are making large contributions for this revamped unit on defense.
