Kyle Seager

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Jonathan Irwin reports on the second game of the series versus the Baltimore Orioles. The Headline: after 14 long innings an Adam Jones walk off single seals the deal for a Mariner’s loss. The Mariner’s put up 18 hits, but get outscored 5-0 after the seventh inning. Despite the score, Blake Beavan pitched a pretty good game. Eric Wedge was ejected for 2nd time in his M’s career.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Mariners: MLB baseball love ‘em & hate ‘em game 3

Blake Beavan

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Jonathan Irwin reports on the third game of the series versus the Toronto Blue Jays. The Headline: Blake Beavan was masterful as the Mariners complete the sweep—their second in a row—against the Jays. John Jaso was again the man. The Mariners have now won 7 in a row. The M’s scored the runs they needed to and found a way to win this one.

New York Yankees vs. Mariners: MLB baseball love ‘em & hate ‘em game 2

A-Rod_NW

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Jonathan Irwin reports on the second game of the series versus the New York Yankees. The Headline: Michael Saunders provides the offense on Felix night as the M’s top New York. King Felix Hernandez pitched 7.1 innings of 2 run ball, giving up 4 hits and striking out 4.

N.Y. Yankees vs. Mariners: MLB baseball love ‘em & hate ‘em Game 1

Ichiro

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Jonathan Irwin reports on the first game of the series versus the New York Yankees. The Headline: Ichiro Suzuki suits up for the enemy as Seattle falls to New York. What a strange day in Seattle. Of all the teams it had to be New York. And on all nights it had to be tonight. Post game Justin Smoak was sent down to AAA Tacoma, Mike Carp will come up.

Mariners vs. Tampa Bay Rays: MLB baseball love ‘em & hate ‘em Game 3

Blake Beavan

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Jonathan Irwin reports on the third game of the series versus the Tampa Bay Rays. The Headline: The Mariners win the pitching duel and take their second series in a row. The road was kind to the M’s, winning 5 out of 7 games, but up next is a 10 game homestand with the M’s facing the first place New York Yankees first. Home will not be as kind as the road reports, as the bats seem to sleep at Safeco.

Mariners vs. Kansas City Royals: MLB baseball love ‘em & hate ‘em Game 4

Felix Hernandez

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Jonathan Irwin reports on the fourth game of the series versus the Kansas City Royals. The Headline: Jesus Montero goes deep and Felix Hernandez pitches a gem as the Mariners win the series. With the July 31st trade deadline fast approaching, the Mariner’s have been suspiciously quiet. Is Jason Vargas, Brandon League or Tom Wilhelmsen on the block?

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Jonathan Irwin reports on the second game of the series versus the Kansas City Royals. As is the ongoing trend with these “love ‘em/hate ‘ems” he must make a note that Seattle’s lineup was absolutely wonderful tonight, for the second night in a row!. The M’s have scored 13 runs in the first two innings of games 1 and two. Jesus Montero, Dustin Ackley, Justin Smoak and Michael Saunders have been great.

Mariners vs. Oakland Athletics: MLB baseball love ‘em & hate ‘em Game 1

Mariners vs. Athletics

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Jonathan Irwin reports on the first game of the series versus the Oakland Athletics. As is the ongoing trend with these “love ‘em/hate ‘ems” I must make a note that Seattle’s lineup was absolutely horrendous tonight. Oakland’s offense had just as hard a time tonight as Seattle’s, and it’s all because of starting pitcher Kevin Millwood. An incredibly boring game.

Oakland Athletics vs. Mariners: MLB baseball love ‘em & hate ‘em Game 2

Wells scores with the 3rd run of the game on a SWEET hit by the suddenly hot at the plate Brendan Ryan.

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Jonathan Irwin reports on the second and final game of the series versus the Oakland Athletics. Isn’t it time for Kyle Seager and Justin Smoak to proove they can hit at Safeco? This is getting ridiculous isn’t it? Another save for the bartender Tom Wilhelmsen. Brandon League didn’t give up any runs, he did allow 2 hits in 0.1 innings of work. Not impressive.

Mariners vs. San Diego Padres: MLB baseball love ‘em & hate ‘em Game 3

Hector Noesi, Seattle Mariners

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Jonathan Irwin reports on the third and final game of the interleague series versus the San Diego Padres. Even with strong pitching, the Mariners bats can’t help them win games. The Mariners are now 31-43, seemingly already digging their proverbial grave. The top five hitters had just 2 hits—not including Kyle Seager’s pinch hit double. Edinson Volquez was unsolvable.

Mariners vs. San Diego Padres: MLB baseball love ‘em & hate ‘em Game 1

Franklin Gutierrez

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Jonathan Irwin reports on the first M’s game of the interleague series versus the San Diego Padres. Jon didn’t find much “good” left to report on in this game, so he highlighted that Ichiro Suzuki once again had a solid night at the plate. Hopefully the 38-year old Ichiro is proving he still has something left in the tank.

Mariners vs. Arizona Diamondbacks: MLB baseball love ‘em & hate ‘em Game 2

Ichiro

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Jonathan Irwin reports on the second M’s game of the interleague series versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Erasmo Ramirez didn’t even make it through the fifth, four innings on 78 pitches. However the Mariner bullpen has been incredibly solid through June. Tom Wilhelmsen, Charlie Furbush were fantastic. Ichiro (hit 2500) and Casper Wells were hero’s.
