The Flying V’s own Kevin Vanstone is back with a new feature counting down the wins to lifting Lord Stanley’s mug for the Vancouver Canucks. While they now sit 1 game down to the Los Angeles Kings in the West Quarterfinal, Kevin says they are NOT on track to winning hockey’s holy grail. Things could change though after Game 2. Will Daniel Sedin be back to partner with brother Henrik Sedin? Byron Bitz will be out.
NWSB Insider and Vancouver Canucks blogger Richard Hodges counts down the top 5 most likely first round opponents for the Canucks in the 2012 NHL playoffs. Wouldn’t it be nice to see the Kings? They recently acquired Jeff Carter and if he can score, which no other King can apparently do this could be good. Ryan Kesler, Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin, Sami Salo, and Alex Edler would be licking their lips.
NWSB Managing Editor “Q” tells us this week in the NHL four or five days ago ESPN first broke the story about LA Kings forward Dustin Penner and his now famous PANCAKE injury. Alledgedly Penner and his weak back went out while “eating” pancakes. Moral of the story…He needs to stretch more come summer time I think. Were Canucks fans insensitive?
Josh Hall one of our Vancouver Canucks bloggers is back with his Tuesday L.A. Kings vs. Vancouver Canucks matchup preview. 7:00 p.m. PT, on Rogers Sportsnet. Ryan Kesler now has something to prove after a media fiasco. Dale Weise on the 4th line, and Manny Malhotra are playing for their jobs with a rumor George Parros could be on his way. David Booth returned Sunday as well.
