Mariners Opening Day

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell weighs in with another M’s Week That Was. Intended to be a fun column, with lots of laughs and other good stuff. Mariners insider Danny Ferguson brings us the Weekly Seattle Mariners notebook. A not so fun bit of news this week. Seattle fans were greeted with a difficult season opener as the team could not score behind Felix Hernandez, and the concession vendors couldn’t take credit cards. Mike Hargrove

Another North West Coach in the spotlight today. Former Seattle Mariners skipper Mike Hargrove. Danny Ferguson one of our Seattle sports area bloggers points out Coach Hargrove isn’t to fondly remembered for his days in Seattle. His record in Seattle as manager is 192–209, including a 93 loss season record in 2005. To this day Hargrove insists his sudden retirement had nothing to do with his Ichiro Suzuki.

Northwest Coach Profiles: Eric Wedge

Eric Wedge

Another North West Coach in the spotlight today. Current Seattle Mariners head coach Eric Wedge was a perfect candidate for the Mariners job after he was let go by the Indians in 2009. Since then, Wedge’s grit and experience has shown through in the Mariners organization. The Mariners front office and fans alike love the guy and hope he can turn the team around back to their winning ways.

Pujols…hmph! Relax Mariners fans, good days are ahead…

Insider Steve says so what if the Anaheim Angels signed Albert Pujols. The Seattle Mariners need to tune out the gallery and keep with the current plan in place, and not over react to what other teams are doing. It’s a matter of trusting Jack Zduriencik and his model of operation. The Mariners are the Texas Rangers, just three seasons behind.

Mariners Trade Winds: Is Seattle courting Grady Sizemore?

Could the Mariners land Sizemore?

NWSB insider Matt Larkin explains how the Seattle Mariners are looking to pursue Grady Sizemore. Would it be a good move to make for the Mariners? The bigger concern with Sizemore: he’s a Seattle boy, born and raised. That means that the Mariners might be tempted to sign him.
