Andrew Shaw’s goal at 2:42 of overtime gave the Chicago Blackhawks an emotional 2-1 victory against the Canucks at the United Center on Wednesday night. Chicago has now won five straight, while Vancouver has dropped two in a row. Chicago’s Corey Crawford was sharp. Alexandre Burrows & Zack Kassian played with heart.

NWSB Managing editor “Q” found an interesting clip on last nights game for Vancouver. Did you miss the Canucks vs. Minnesota Wild Monday night? Minnesota got on the board late in the first period on a power-play goal by Erik Christensen, but also in the game Kevin Bieksa took a whicked shot to the face from his own teammate Aaron Rome. Minnesota got on the board late in the first period on a power-play goal by Erik Christensen, who started the play with the puck in the right corner. Josh Harding stoned the Canucks at every turn, picking up his 10th win overall. His previous shutout came way back on the 29th of October against Detroit. Cory Schneider took the loss.

Cory Schneider, making his second start in 17 days with Roberto Luongo struggling of late, made 33 saves.

Alexandre Burrows and Ryan Kesler, on the power play, staked the Canucks to a 2-0 lead in the first 10 minutes, but Rostislav Klesla got the Coyotes on the board and they didn’t look back. Roberto Luongo took the loss.

Did you miss the Montreal Canadiens vs. Vancouver Canucks Saturday night? The Habs grabbed a 4-1 win against the Canucks at Rogers Arena. Blake Geoffrion, a fourth-generation Canadien, scored his first goal for a team his grandfather and great grandfather starred for during Hall of Fame careers. P.K. Subban had a key 5-on-3 goal 5:20 into the third period. For the Canucks, it was more of the same of late. Roberto Luongo was in net.

Did you miss the Winnipeg Jets vs. Vancouver Canucks Thursday night? The Vancouver Canucks didn’t acquire Samuel Pahlsson for his offense. He picked a good time to chip in with a goal. Added just before the Feb. 27 trade deadline to be a third-line checking center, Pahlsson took a drop pass from Kevin Bieksa in the high slot and wired a slap shot over the glove of a stunned Ondrej Pavelec.

Richard Bachman made his best stops when the game was tight, including a diving glove to take a rebound chance away from Ryan Kesler to keep it 1-0 in the second period. Dallas center Mike Ribeiro had a heckuva game with two goals. Loui Eriksson had a goal and two helpers and Steve Ott played great. Roberto Luongo took the loss.

Did you miss the Buffalo Sabres vs. Vancouver Canucks Saturday night? Three goals in the first 5 minutes and 10 seconds in this one spelled doom for the Canucks. Ryan Miller wasn’t incredible but he did more than Roberto Luongo did in his 5 minutes of ice time. Big two points for Buffalo. They win in Vancouver for the first time 13 years. (February of 1999). Zack Kassian had two points for Vancouver.
