Though not as much if you really thought Mike Gillis could pull off the Cody Hodgson for Zack Kassian trade. Marc-Andre Gragnani also comes Vancouver’s way from Buffalo and he’ll start tonight versus the St. Louis Blues, in for Chris Tanev.

Canucks All-Star defenseman Alex Edler’s power-play goal in the first period held up until midway through the third, when Ray Whitney netted the equalizer. Vancouver has earned at least one point in 11 of its last 12 road matches (8-1-3) and 17 of 18 overall (12-1-5). Mike Smith outbattled Cory Schneider.

Dallas did an impressive job of holding Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin in check for the entire 60 minutes. The Sedins finished the game with just one shot between them. Roberto Luongo stopped 25 of 28 shots in a losing effort.

Defenseman Aaron Rome scored his first goal in 29 games and Cory Schneider turned aside 30 shots as visiting Vancouver secured its NHL-leading 84th point by downing New Jersey. The Canucks improved to 4-0-0 this season when Rome scores a goal.

Alex Burrows who yesterday played in his 500th game scored the only goal of the shootout on the Canucks last shot of the night. Roberto Luongo kept Vancouver in this one thruout making several key stops. Daniel Sedin tied this game with 15 seconds left in the third period.

Mike Fisher had a three-point night for the Preds, who handed the Canucks their first regulation loss since Jan. 15. Pekka Rinne (32 saves) earned his 33rd win of the season. Vancouver entered the game 14-2-4 in their last 20 games. Roberto Luongo played great but took the loss.

Did you miss the Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Vancouver Canucks game Saturday night? A 6-2 regulation time win by Van-City. The Canucks’ current run against the rest of the NHL is almost as impressive, a 9-0-3 stretch that has them back within two points of Detroit atop the Western Conference. Henrik Sedin & Daniel Sedin managed four points each. Alex Burrows scored two nice goals.

Our man Kevin V. is back with another edition of the Vancouver Canucks Notebook. Chris Higgins’ return to the lineup on Wednesday woke up the Canucks. Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin square off against #1 most easily intimidated player Phil Kessel in a battle of the bully victims Saturday at Rogers Arena. Toronto native Chris Tanev will play Saturday night.

Colorado vs. Vancouver – February 15th | NHL Highlights

Did you miss the Colorado Avalanche vs. Vancouver Canucks game Wednesday night? A 3-1 regulation time win by Van-City. Jannik Hansen snapped a tie with 6:29 remaining in the third period as host Vancouver improved to 13-0-2 in its last 15 meetings with Colorado. What a pass by Cody Hodgson to set it up. Nice game by David Booth as well, he’s really hitting his stride.

Did you miss the Phoenix Coyotes vs. Vancouver Canucks game Monday night? A 2-1 shootout win by Van-City. After the teams traded goals during the first, third and fifth rounds of the shootout, Ryan Kesler skated in and wristed a shot past former Canucks backup Jason LaBarbera. Roberto Luongo then denied Boyd Gordon’s backhander to preserve the victory.
