VMAC Training Camp Notes: Seahawks Day 2 #BingHawks

Seahawks Training Camp at The VMAC

2 days down Due to unfortunate circumstances I am unable to be in Seattle at this time so I am watching the live stream of Seahawks practices on the web. Every once in a while I will write a post and share some of the things that have stood out to me while watching training camp on […]

*My* Seahawks worst case scenario in 2013

Russell Wilson

NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson talks about what the worst case scenario for the 2013 Seattle Seahawks would be. While there are several things that could derail Seattle’s chance of reaching a Super Bowl, he believes that the greatest threat to the Seahawks would be the loss of Russell Wilson for more than three games, especially towards the end of the season. Chris believes Brady Quinn and Tarvaris Jackson, who are both contending for the backup QB spot, would not be able to produce enough wins for the team.

Seattle Seahawks: Offseason acquisitions

Cliff Avrill will make a big impact this year along the defensive line.

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks’ blogger Jonas Hyde talks about the offseason acquisitions Seattle made and how they will fit in with the rest of the team. Head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider used a key trade and free agent signings to bolster some of the team’s weaknesses: QB pressure from the defensive line, a true play-maker on offense, secondary depth, and a backup quarterback in the event something… anything… happens to franchise savior, Russell Wilson.

Look for Pete Carroll contract extension talks to heat up

John Schneider

Seattle Seahawks blogger Jones Hyde weighs in today on the news about GM John Schneider and his contract extension. Jonas goes on to say Pete Carroll will be next to hit a payday. With Carroll’s original 5-year deal running through 2014, it is a given that an extension will be done within the year to keep the tandem together. After the extension is done, the real work will only just be starting. Richard Sherman & Russell Wilson are nice picks by the way.

Brandon Browner wants to wring Harbaugh’s little neck

NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson gives you his thoughts on Brandon Browner’s reaction to Jim Harbaugh’s comments on Seattle’s recent PED use and suspension. With Harbaugh being one of the more animated, ridiculous, and complainers in the league, it’s sometimes nice to see a player attempting to put a younger coach in his place. That being said, however, Browner’s comments might have been a tad out-of-line. Read on to see what I had to say on the matter!

Kam Chancellor’s new role with the Seahawks

Kam Chancellor Seahawks Safety

NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson talks about Kam Chancellor’s new role with the Seattle Seahawks. A new extension added to his contract, Chancellor will be expected to become a leader for the Seahawks. Recently speaking out about Bruce Irvin’s four-game suspension and the attitude of the team, Chancellor made sure to point out that he is already en route to becoming quite the leader in Seattle.

Bruce Irvin gets sacked by the NFL

Bruce Irvin draft pick

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks Blogger Brett Bivens recaps his thoughts on the four-game suspension of Bruce Irvin. After watching Winston Guy and Brandon Browner get suspended last season, as well as Richard Sherman fighting suspension for using Adderall, you’d think Bivens would have been smarter. The initial assumption in the minds of fans was probably that Irvin was taking steroids, but this just doesn’t make sense to the 12th man.

Legion of Boom: The Seahawks not so secret weapon

Seahawk Widescreen

Seattle Seahawks blogger Clinton Bell weighs in with a piece about the Seahawks most prized possession: the Legion of Boom. From Kam to Earl, Browner to Sherm, these guys are the heart and soul of the Seahawks defense. Sure the offense has some nice weapons too, but the defense is what keeps the Hawks in games down the stretch. Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, Brandon Browner, and now featuring Antoine Winfield. Look out.

Welcome to Seattle Tharold Simon…Cornerback LSU

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks Blogger Brett Bivens recaps the team’s fifth round pick, Tharold Simon. Brett says Simon could be the annual Seahawks diamond in the rough, and he loves this pick! Tharold might be the player who replaces Brandon Browner one day. He got in trouble with the law this week but by all accounts it will work itself out and not amount to anything major.

Draft predictions! Positions Seahawks need to address next week

Bobby Wagner

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brett Bivens weighs in tonight on the state of the Hawks prior to the 2013 NFL draft. He weighs in with some draft predictions, his free draft preview, and explains what he thinks are the teams roster weaknesses. He loves the secondary, but says addition of Antoine Winfield in free agency should secure the teams nickelback position. Richard Sherman & Brandon Browner are great, but more depth is needed for starters.

Rich get richer! Reasons to love Seahawks signing Antoine Winfield

Legion Of Boom at M's game

NWSB insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brett Bivens brings us his take on another Pete Carroll & John Schneider move this week. They signed Antoine Winfield. He gives the Seahawks a player who they can count on in the secondary. Eventually he will hit a wall where he is no longer effective, hopefully it is not this season. Between Richard Sherman, Brandon Browner, Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor the secondary looks set.

The five Seahawks that must step up Sunday vs. Falcons

Bruce Irvin draft pick

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brett Bivens previews and analyzes the five impact players for Sunday’s Seahawks game versus the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Divisonal game. He says Bruce Irvin, Marshawn Lynch, Richard Shermer, Brandon Browner and Ryan Longwell are the five guys to keep an eye on. Brett says if these 5 players step up he has no doubt that the Seahawks will fly home to prepare for the NFC Championship game.
