Mariners preview: Looking ahead to the next 5 games

NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson previews the next five games for the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners have looked pretty good as of late. Though they dropped a slugfest to the Boston Red Sox last night in an 11-8 triumph by the visitors, the young guys who have been brought up are making significant contributions and really stepping into big shoes. Brad Miller has shown he can hit in the leadoff spot, Nick Franklin has continued to be stellar, and Mike Zunino is flashing the defensive prowess he needs to focus on right now.

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners’ blogger Jeff Budke breaks down what happened against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night at Safeco Field. Though the M’s crushed the ball early in the game, Hisashi Iwakuma continued to look out-of-form, surrendering home runs to allow Boston back in the game. Blake Beavan didn’t help, either, as the Red Sox continued to tattoo the ball.
