Should the Seattle Seahawks have kept Antoine Winfield?

NWSB Insider & Seattle Seahawks blogger JD Burke takes a look at the the reasons why the brain trust of Pete Carroll & John Schneider released veteran offseason free agent Antoine Winfield. Last season Winfield only missed eight tackles playing in Minnesota’s nickel and dime packages, which are incredibly demanding of the nickelback/s in run defense. Surely he could have helped this D out right? For better or worse, the early returns are less than a day away. Can only hope they’re positive.

Tailback LaMichael James was the star in Oregon’s Pac 12 Football 43-15 win over California, running for 239 yards and a touchdown. The game ended on a sour note though, as LaMichael James fell awkwardly and injured his arm in the fourth quarter.
