Seattle fans were greeted with a difficult season opener as the team could not score behind Felix Hernandez, and the concession vendors couldn’t take credit cards. Texas looks to have a secure hold to their place a top the A.L. West and are the favorites for another division championship.

The 2 teams split their series in Japan, and the Mariners won both games back in Oakland. Blake Bevan was able to hold the Texas Rangers to a single run in Arlington, which is unheard of. Felix Hernandez vs. Colon tonight a match made in heaven.

Hector Noesi is getting his first start for Seattle in the first game of this four game series. Noesi worked out of the pen for the Yankees in 2011 and had success against the Texas power line-up in the 1.2 innings he worked against them.

The M’s have a major overhaul coming to their starting rotation, and their bullpen has a strong core, but needs a few pieces to round it off.
