Not an enviable task for a young QB. We know this for a fact as we head into 2012. Lulay won’t be flying under the radar any longer! By winning the Grey Cup MVP, Lulay has anointed himself as one of the more high profile players in the CFL.

Wally Buono made his long-awaited move away from the sidelines and Benevides finally took over a job that was rumoured to be his since 2008 when he turned down the Toronto Argonauts head coaching job in favor of the potential of one day becoming the Lions top dog!
BC Sports Writer Josh Hall attended the BC Association of Broadcasters 65th Annual Conference this week and sat in on a press conference attended by some of the BC Lions including Travis Lulay and their partners with the Ending Violence Association of BC. The presser was to announce a major humanitarian award for the two organizations and Josh has the story after the jump.

During his career Millington was named CFL West Division All-Star – five times; CFL All-Star – three times; CFL Most Outstanding Canadian Player in the West Division – three times; CFL’s Most Outstanding Canadian Award – two times.

He became the first Canadian to win the AL MVP award, and the second Canadian to win a major league MVP award (Larry Walker was the first, having won the NL MVP Award in 1997; Walker and Morneau were joined in 2010 by Joey Votto).

In 2001, Lenarduzzi was inducted as a player into the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame. In 2005, he was awarded the Order of British Columbia. In 2003, he was inducted into the U.S. National Soccer Hall of Fame.
NWSB Blogger Dave B. checks in this time with a Northwest Athlete Profile on Victoria BC boy Mel Bridgman. Bridgman started his junior career in Victoria where he played four games for his hometown Cougars during the 1971-72 season. Bridgman’s last season in the NHL was the 1988-1989.
