Week 8 MVP’s
If the Seattle Seahawks learned one thing in Sunday’s loss to the Bengals it is that Tarvaris Jackson has to be running this offense if the team is to be competitive.

It’s time to cut ties with Charlie Whitehurst and maybe let Josh Portis step into the backup role – but I digress.
The Hawks were plagued by mistakes in the return games – one touchdown against in the punt return and interception return game.
They did hang around in the game and show some positive things – too bad Charlie Whitehurst wasn’t one of them.
Here is this week’s Game Balls – the Offensive Game Ball was easy – the defensive one was not!
Offense
QB Tarvaris Jackson – “I was hoping we could rest him another week,” Pete Carroll said after Sunday’s game.” But it just didn’t feel like we were moving anywhere.”
That’s an understatement Pete!
Jackson sucked it up (pectoral muscle) and finished 21 of 40 for a career-high 323 yards in just 2 1/2 quarters, while Charlie Whitehurst was 4 of 7 for 52 yards and was sacked twice in his limited appearance.

Kam Chancellor gets the nod this week with a defensive gameball
It is safe to say that Jackson was the spark that Seahawks needed after sleepwalking through five quarters of action.
Jackson looked good, decisive and appeared to be in command of the offense – drops hurt his numbers in this one for sure! Jackson made everybody on the team better this week – Ben Obomanu had 100+ yards receiving and so did Sidney Rice.

Defense
SS Kam Chancellor – Sunday’s game was void of any real standout performance on defense – the team generated one measly sack and forced two turnovers.
By omission, Kam Chancellor gets the nod this week after seven tackles (4 solo) and an interception. With a secondary that has been riddled by injuries, Chancellor has been a rock – it’s time to honour him!
This week’s Defensive Game Ball belongs to you Kam Chancellor!
